New Fiddle & Banjo Lessons!
Hi Mooses,

We got a lot of new lessons for everyone.  I know it's been awhile since the last update.  David Cavage has released twelve intermediate banjo lessons on the song Sally Goodin' and some more theory applications.  All twelve of his lessons can be found on the lessons page right now so be sure to check them out!

Jeff Wisor also swung by last week and recorded twenty-three more fiddle lessons of varying difficulty.  I just got the raw lessons in the mail the other day so you can expect to see them posted on the site soon.  Word is, this round of lessons is very similar to previous lessons where it is 3 lessons per song (played, part A, part B).  Expect to see a song-set a week for Jeff's lessons once we get them rendered.  Hopin' to get them started later this week.

Hope everyone's having nice spring weather
Smile

Can you help out a poor Moose ???

Do you like the free music lesson on MusicMoose.org?  Do you think they rock?  We hope you do.  Many of our new instructors are here because of YOU and the traffic you brought to the site.  We love providing these lessons to help spread the good sound of music and we are asking for your help so that we can continue to spread the word for years to come!  We need your help to grow and to get the word out to your friends, and your friends friends, and your friends friends friends…

The absolute best way to support the Moose is to buy an item from the Music Moose store.
  Music Moose stocks several popular items like strings and tuners for musicians at very competitive prices.  We also provide all of our instructors released solo and project CD's.  Buying CDs and other items from the Music Moose store ensures that the proceeds directly supports the Moose and all of its great instructors!

There are other ways that you can support the Moose that we'd be very thankful for.  They include the following:

1.) If you run a website, blog or the like and you have some room for our little “Spread the Moose” button we would love it if you can put it up for us.

Just add this html snippet of code to your site:

<div border="0">
<a xhref="http://www.musicmoose.org">
<img xsrc="http://www.musicmoose.org/spreadMM.png" width="117" height="31" border="0">
</a>
</div>

2.)  MySpace.com has become hugely popular and many, many people have MySpace accounts.  So does MusicMoose!  We'd sure enjoy being your friend on MySpace if you be ours.
MusicMoose MySpace page:  http://www.myspace.com/musicmoose_org

3.)  Some members have asked us for flyers that they can print out so they can distribute it at their local jams and the like.  Well, if you have some spare paper & ink in your printer feel free to print off some of our flyers perfect for handing out.  Thanks to Veronica for making these!  MusicMoose Promotional Flyer

We thank all those that have helped us grow to where we are now by spreading the good word of the Moose!

Welcome to the Moose!

Here at MusicMoose.org, it is our vision to provide the world with free, useful music lessons, and a communty based site to help back it all up.

The lessons on musicmoose.org are posted as an online video that is accompanied by a text description and either notation or tablature.

Other online music sites on the net charge for lessons, we here at the moose believe that this should be free to you, and we will never charge you to access the site, or to view the lessons from our instructors. In fact, you don't even have to register to view the lessons, so how much better can it get?

We have several top of the line instructors on instruments ranging from the saxophone to the banjo. Our instructors are seasoned musicians who have played in many top caliber bands and toured all around the world.  We are also always expanding our line-up to bring more instructors/lessons/genres to the site.

The music moose system believes in fair-ness to the artists as well, so you will see a non-obtrusive amount of advertising on the site - the proceeds are what pays the artists, and keeps the site free for you.

In addition to the lessons, you will find we have several forums, and additionally the site boasts a user profile system whereby you can post information about yourself, keep track of your favorite content, and also private message other users (including the instructors!).

Best of all, this is all free, and there is no catch to you.  We hope you'll stay and make yourself at home and take advantage of our many great features!
